First day of pre-school!!!

Today was Dylan's first day of pre-school!!! He got to pick what he wanted for breakfast and picked biscuits and gravy...his favorite!!!

He was very excited to go!!! He will be going on Tuesday and Thursday's from 8:30-11:30! Mommy gets to go to Ohlde Seed and work in the office during that time!

Once Dylan got to his room, he went straight for the train table!!

Dylan is looking forward to going back on Thursday!!!

Annual Lake Weekend

Before we headed out with the Ohlde family for our 2nd annual weekend at the lake, we picked sweet corn from our garden! Both of my boys love corn!! Here they are on our back patio eating supper!

This is the awesome cabin we got to stay in!!

Said this before but I will say it again...my brother-in-law is special!

We turned on the radio and Dylan started dancing...it was soo funny...here was one of his moves!!! :-)

4 years ago today, I was holding this little guy in the hospital and our dreams came true to become parents!!!!

What a great little boy you are becoming Dylan!! Mommy and Daddy don't know what they would do without you(o.k. maybe we would actually get to sleep past 6:30 a.m.)!! Everyone thinks your going to be a big boy since you weight 52 pounds!!! Love you Dylan!!!

It is the 4th of July, right?!?!? Dylan and I have been helping with harvest and staying up late(real late) and Dylan still likes to get up between 6:00 & 6:45, so we have been getting very little sleep and we're tired....and groughy!!! Picture of harvest to come soon........
But, in the mean time Dylan and his cousins had a quick little photo session the other night...I was helping with harvest and making food for 7 BIG hungry guys so I didn't get to see these cuties this weekend....

Dylan is counting down the days until he is 4!!! Not much longer!!

Last weekend Dylan was in the wedding of some friends of ours! He was one of the ringbears!
Here is all the guys together before the wedding! Dylan did so good looking at the camera and smiling!!

After the wedding the wedding party rode off on this.....And they even let Dylan go!! They went and took some pictures in our big town 2 miles away and were gone for about 1.5 hours!! They said Dylan was good....even funny......:-)

I liked the back of it!

Dylan couldn't wait for the dance and the first song he grabbed the 5 year old flower girl!!!

He danced and danced and danced.......for about 2.5 hours and then crashed!!! What a fun night!! Glad we could help you celebrate Schulyer and Staci!!! :-)

It's been a long month without a computer but I finally got my new one in!!! Here are some pictures from last week when my Mom and I took Dylan and my 2 neices Kennedy and Gentry to see Thomas the Train!!!
Here they are right after lunch!!

They had a lot of different activites for the kids to do and get this...they were all free!!! Expect for actually riding Thomas the Train! Dylan LOVED this slide!

Here they are in front of Thomas! Thomas needs to invest in a air-conditions...boy it was HOT!

We also got to ride a school bus and the kids also got to see on a Fire Truck!! What an exciting day!!!!:)

F.U.N. Day!!!

Last night we had 2 little vistors!!! Dylan's cousins Kennedy and Gentry spent the night!!! I actually got them to stop playing for a minute and line-up for a picture!

After all that playing they got in the tub!!!

This morning the girls requested pancakes for breakfast and to eat at the Buzz and Woody table they got Dylan for his birthday last year!!! :-)

This morning we went down and met Grandma Walleta and her kids at the BRAND NEW park in town!!! And wow, was it awesome!!!!!!! Dylan had many favorite things about the park but he said he really liked the tire swing!!!

Aunt Kelli even stopped bye during her lunch break!!!

My youngest brother, Jason turns 27 today!!! Here he is with Dylan at his wedding 3 years ago!!!

I wasn't super happy when he was born, as I was really wanting a sister since I already had a brother. But, I knew if I waited long enough, he would come in handy!!! And that day has come............. :-)Here he is helping put on trim on in the basement.

He re-did all of his house a couple months ago, so he was in the mode of doing trim so he brought his tools up and helped us!!

So I promised pictures of my basement........here's just a little sneak peak.... I think it turned out great.

Kitchen Helper

Not only do I have a helper outside but he also likes to help in the kitchen!!! :-)

We had lot of fun cookie cutters...his favorite was the sheep and the carrot!

He didn't eat a very good lunch after we got done...don't know why?!?!!?

And he even helped decorate them!!!

Projects

I always love to have some projects to work on. Right now I have started my yearly scrapbooking gift for the senior football boys. I have 4 scrapbooks to get done before graduation!!!

My other project is working on a new cookbook for our church. It's been since 1978 since we've had a cookbook done and it's all out of print! It's been quite the project typing all the recipes in on-line but have I a great committee helping me with it!!!

Dylan's main project lately is keeping these darn calves in!!! I think they get out just so Dylan can chase them right back in!!!

I also have been working on finishing up painting my basement and also working on my back patio outside!!! Not quite done with either yet, so pictures of those will have to wait a little while!!!

Field Trip

Today Dylan got to go with Grandma and her kids on a field trip to the hospital for their Teddy Bear Clinic. All the kids have to bring a teddy bear or some sort of doll or stuffed animal with them.
Here is Dylan getting checked out first......yep, they heard a heart beat!! :-)

Next it was George's turn! George got hurt and broke his arm, so he got a cast!!! We can't take the cast off until "church day", Dylan said!!! :-)

Mommy wasn't able to go along today, as I had an appt. but he had a wonderful time! Thanks to Grandma and all her helpers for taking Dylan!!! :-)

Lawn Boy

I have quite the lawn boy!!! He trims the bushes and trees in our yard....

He even loads up the clippings and hauls them away.....

We had a calf get out and he chased it....

And he even got the calf back in.....

And then went right back to work..........

Today was Shane's Uncle Rodney's funeral. He is the 2nd one from the left in this picture. Also in this picture is Great-Grandpa Raymond, his 2 sons, 3 grandsons and 2 great-grandsons. This is from just about 4 years ago, after Dylan's baptism.

Rodney was such a great person and leader in our community. He ran Ohlde Seed before Shane took over and taught Shane alot and was always there for him if he had a question. I will always remember him for his love of ice cream and duct-tape!!!!! He will be missed.

Weekend

This past weekend we headed to K.C. to see Toy Story on Ice. It was so neat and we just had the best time.
It started out with the green army men coming down with parashuts from the ceiling but we had people in front of us standing up and I couldn't get a picture, but thought this one was okay of all of them!

We spent the night at Shane's sisters house and then when we woke up Sunday morning and was about ready to leave we got a phone call that Shane's Uncle Rodney had passed away. He battled cancer for over 5 years. Him and his wife bulit the house we live in and also ran the seed business for many, many years before Shane took over. Tried to find a picture of him to share but couldn't find the one I was looking for. Please keep his family in your prayers.

So here is Part-3 to Jamaica!!! We went snorkling. It was part of our "package deal", so even though I didn't like it when we went on our honeymoon, I thought I would give it a try again!!!

Here is Shane, Chad and Libby.....and everyone else on our boat has been in the water for 5 minutes....and I'm still in the boat!!!

I started out good...by the boat...didn't see any fish....it was going great....and then I got a little bit closer to this little island here...and I saw FISH and A SEA SNAKE!!!!! Yep, you guessed it......I was D.O.N.E. snorkling!!!!!!!

Our "guide" found/caught a lobster....after I was out of the water...

Poor Shane was so tired after snorkling he needed a nap!!!! :-)

Part-2

The first couple of days most of our group played volleyball at 11:00 and 4:00 everyday!

On Tuesday we went on a sunset cruise about 45 minutes away by boat. Once we got to our destination we could all get in!!! The water was 30 feet deep and you could see the bottom!!!

Shane, Chad, Libby and I all went down the slipper slide also!! So fun!!

And the four of us also swam back into the cave that was real close.

Right when we got back to the resort we stayed on the boat to see a awesome sunset!!

Jamaica- Part-1

Shane and I just got back early this morning from a trip to Jamaica!!! We just had such a wonderful time!!!
Here is what we saw right away when we finally arrived at our resort on Saturday. We stayed in the town of Negril, Jamaica. It's about an hour and half from the airport.

There were 6 of us that went......us, Shane's cousin Chad and his wife Libby and Shane's cousin Brad and his wife Callie!!!

Sunday was our first day on the beach and though many activities were part of our all-inclusive trip, para-sailing wasn't but we decided to give it a try anyways. Here is Shane and I strapped in and ready to go!!!

Just a little nervous at this point!!!

Can you see us WAY up there!!! What a beautiful view!!! It was just amazing and so glad we all got to do it!!!

This Week

This week we headed with Shane, to some meetings he had!!! Our first evening there we headed to the Mall to make a Teddy Bear...something I thought Dylan would really enjoy.
He picked to make a monkey!

Here Dylan is with George! And he picked out a fireman outfit for him!! So cute!

Shane's meetings were close to my brother and sister-in-law and family so Kate and the girls came to our hotel to swim!!!

They had a such a great time!!!

Little Miss Emery didn't come the night before but we headed to there house on Wednesday and got to see her!! Oh, she is soooo cute!!!!!!

Kate and the girls took us to their favorite park!! Hard to believe it was 75 and beautiful out on Wednesday and bye Thursday at our house we had blowing snow!!!

Warm Weather!

This last week we had WONDERFUL weather!!! On Thursday it got up to around 70!!! Friday was really nice also so we invited Grandma Walleta, her fun helper Jamie and the 10 kids up to our place for the morning!!!
We started out with feeding the cow at our house. Most of them really enjoyed it.

Then we headed to the park where I treated everyone to a gourmet lunch of peanut butter & jelly, chips, cheese stick, bannana and juice!!!

Here is Jamie on the middle slide(she is having her first baby in June!!!) and Brayley and Emma on the big slides also!!

Shane even stopped bye for lunch and to play for a bit. Dylan thought it was funny Daddy was on the toys!!! :-)

Busy Bee's

We had a busy weekend!! Saturday morning we helped Shane set up a catch pen for our cattle and hauled them home!

Dylan had to take his stick along, to help out!! He does pretty good!!! :-)

Sunday I put the boys to work in the basement!! We are painting and boy is it a job!!! We have a huge basement, which means LOTS of painting!!

I wish I could make this one a video so you could see them both dancing while painting!! Too cute!!!!!!!!

Nothing really to report around here but that Dylan hasn't been feeling the best. He's been doing breathing treatments for a nasty cough he has going on.

I can never get him to sit and do his treatment until this week!! I taped Momma Mia! and so I turn that on and he doesn't move!!! Kind-of a strange pick for him but whatever works!!!!!

Looking forward to 50 degree temps next week!!!

Painters

My youngest brother, Jason and his wife Kara are redoing the 2nd and 3rd floor of their cute country house. So yesterday Dylan and I headed down to help paint!!!
With no carpet and no baseboards on it was perfect time for us to help!!!

Dylan had a ball and Jason was so paitent with him!!! We got 2 of the bedrooms painted while we were there!!! Can't wait to share some pictures in a few weeks when it's all done!!!

Another round of VERY cold weather and snow is hitting our area today!!! So we are trying to keep busy inside!!!
We having been working on writing Dylan's name. He isn't so interested in that but getting better!! We also did a lot of cutting this morning with scissors.

And of course when we are done it has to go on the fridge!!!

We have also baked a little....making Blueberry Coffee Cakes!!! Dylan has been working on cracking eggs(his favorite thing to do in the kitchen besides stirring), and he did a great job getting only the eggs in the batter!!!!

Lunch Date

We hardly ever go out to eat, let alone out for lunch. So today was really special as we got to go out to lunch with Uncle Jason!!!! Shane has been gone alot lately, so I though since we are all ready in town for playgroup, we could eat lunch with Uncle Jason....just the 3 of us!!! But, while the 3 of us were eating I felt like people were looking at us thinking....what a cute little family!!! Once leaving the Pizza Hut, I asked Jason about it and it said he felt the same way...ewwwww...but we did have a nice time!!!! But maybe next time we should bring Kara or Shane with us!!!

Here is Uncle Jason and I the other night at Gentry's birthday party!!! And to think at one time, I was taller than him!!!!! :-)

More Snow!

After just about having all our snow melt on Monday, we got more snow yesterday!!! It came down so pretty and was just beautiful out this morning!! Grandpa Ron came and cleared off our drive-way(thank you)!!!
I thought the house looked so pretty with the snow on it!!

Dylan and Ginger helped me with shoveling the walk...kind-of!!!

I think they just played more than helping me!!!!! :-)

Now after this snow melts, I think I will be ready for spring!!! :-)

Sorry, no pictures for this post!! I hate posting without pictures....
Anyways, this week we were in Topeka for the Farm Show with Shane. Monday night Shane, Dylan and I went out to eat at Chilies'!!! With the awful weather, not many were there eating. So we got sat next to 2 college aged girls. They ate and left and we were still eating. So when we got done we asked for our check and our waitress said that those 2 girls got our meal!!!!! WHAT? WHY??? And she just said that they wanted to do a Random Act of Kindness for someone!!! How nice!!! It just totally made our day and we wondered what we could do to pay it forward, so we decided to leave our waitress a $20.00 tip!!! So we left and as we were getting into our jeep we look back inside just in time to see her find the $20.00!!! That made my night even more, to see the excitement on her face!!! What a wonderful night!!!
Now my challenge for each one of my "followers" is to preform a random act of kindness!!! Now, it doesn't have to cost anything, or take much time...just be creative. Make someones day!!! :-)

Christmas-Take-2

So...my pictures are all backwards on this...so annoying but I hope you enjoy them anyways....
We started out Christmas Day by going to my parents at noon and then Shane's parents that night........That night, this is what I got from Shane's parents... a new shower curtain and rug!! I LOVE them!!!

Here is Dylan on Christmas Eve, right before we headed out for church! Hard to believe it's Dylan's last year before he is in the Christmas program!! Crazy...

After church we head into Shane's Grandpa Ohlde's house. There are a TON of people there!!! Over 55 in his house....so I don't even try to take any picture there!!
Here is Dylan on Christmas morning....Santa brought Dylan a BIG combine like Grandpa Ohlde's!!!!!!!

And a big John Deere tractor and wagon!!!!!

And just like last year, right when he gets done opening his presents he calls Santa on his "phone" and thanks him for all his gifts!!!

We don't ever tell him to do that, but it makes me feel good and feel like maybe, just maybe we are doing something right!!! :-)

70's Party

Last night was the annual Christmas dress-up party on the Ohlde Side!! This year was the 70's theme! Dylan and I haven't been feeling the best so we didn't dress up but we still had a great time!!
Shane and Shaun got out their Dad's old basketball uniforms.....I just about pee'd my pants laughing so hard!!!

Rachel got in on the action too and wore one of Anita's old outfits!!! She looked super cute!!!

Coach Hadden dressed up and lead the boys through some drills, which again was super funny!!!

Anita dug out some old bridesmaid dresses!! I thought her and Jenni looked really pretty!!!

Later on in the night they started doing karreoke and the kids pulled up chairs and Dylan SAT AND WATCHED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES!!!!! Crazy, as this kid NEVER sits!!!

The sitting didn't last for long as Dylan got up and started playing his "guitar"!!!

Libby sang and Dylan just keep playing his "guitar"!!!! It was so cute!!!

What a fun but late night for us!!!!!!!

Christmas Time!!!

Saturday Dylan and I went into town to see Santa Claus!!! Dylan didn't want to sit on his lap but was excited to shake his hand and get his picture taken with him!! Dylan told Santa he wants a bigger bike with no training wheels!!!

Today we made a Gingerbread house!!! He was really excited about it!!!

He made some sort of desgin on the side of the roof!!!

All done for now!!! I think we might add more to it later but it turned out pretty good!!!

And we also made some treats for the Ohlde Seed open house tomorrow......they are so easy.......take a rollo and put on top of a pretzel and bake for 8 minutes at 350 and then take out and put a pecan on top!!! Yummy.......

My In-laws are in New York City for a few days for meetings. My mother-in-law called this morning to say that a couple of them were walking down to the Today show, and maybe we should watch.
And sure enough 10 minutes later this is what we saw......(she is in the upper right hand corner)!!!!!

Dylan was thrilled!!! She waved and he waved back!! It was so cute!! We even taped it, so when Grandma gets home she can see it too!!!

This last week we headed to Chicago for annual meetings that Shane has up there. I think this was our 6th time going!!
Here we are going out on Tuesday night for dinner. We went out with a group and took a really awesome limo!!

When our food came this was what was staring at me!!!!!!

Wednesday night we went out again with some people and I made Shane stand in front of this cow and get his picture taken.

I thought Shane and I should get our picture taken together since he had a suit on!!!

I took a picture of this beautiful Christmas tree in front of the Hancock building. It was huge!!

This is what we took to supper on Thursday night!!! And all the tree in downtown Chicago have lights on them...it's so pretty!!!

Another beautiful tree and decorations as we walked into the building!! We had dinner on the 95th floor!!!

Another fun trip to Chicago!! Thanks to my parents for keeping Dylan!!! And too the Hays who keep Dylan one night and Jamie and Carolyn who helped Mom out during the day!!! We really appreciate it!!

We have had wonderful weather the past couple days and have been spending a lot of time outside playing, putting up decorations and going to the park!! Who would have thought we would be doing all that in December still!!! So nice!!!

2 Day Event!

On Friday I headed out on my 2 day shopping event!! I left my little boy with these two......I was a little nervous about that!!! :-)

Us girls shopped on Friday and then headed down to the plaza for supper and to take in the lights! It was my first time going...I don't get out much so as I oooo and ahhhh'd at everything...they made fun of me....

I loved all the horse and carraiges!!

The lights were really pretty!!!

On Saturday we met up for lunch with Anita's sisters and their girls...

I found some wonderful deals....I would love to show you them all but some of the "deals" are for people who read this blog, so I can't show you them but.....
I did find these jeans for Shane for $12.99!!!

And this head-lamp for Dylan.....he loves Shane's...I found this for $2.00!!!

And Tommy dress shoes for Dylan for $10.00!!!!!

What a fun 2 day trip!!! I was so glad to get away but so excited to see my boys when I got home!!!!!

This week we have had a lot of vistors, which we all love!!!
Monday night we had Grandma & Grandpa Ohlde over for supper for Grandpa's birthday and also............RACHEL!!! Dylan's girlfriend is home from college!!!

And Uncle Shaun came too!!! Dylan took this picture......

Then yesterday morning Miss Sophia was here.......

And then this morning Grandma Walleta only had 3 kids so they came up to play........

And tonight Amillia is coming to play while her Mommy gets ready for her 2nd birthday party tomorrow and then I host my 1st Thanksgiving at noon tomorrow for my side of the family!!!

Party, Party!!!

Last night we traveled south to go spend the night in a hotel!!! Dylan was pumped to finally get to go swimming with Daddy!!!

This was the first time swimming with Daddy in a swimming pool!!! We've went with him to the lake but never the pool!!! Dylan was excited that he could touch!!!

Today we celebrated Miss Emery Grace's baptism!!! Doesn't she look cute......sorry, not sure how to get this picture turned around!!

And Miss Kennedy's 5th Birthday!!!

She got tons of cool Barbie things!! Dylan loved it all to!! And even went home sporting some eye shadow!!!!

And no trip to Wichita is complete without Dylan throwing up!!! Yep, sure enough he threw-up all his lunch!!! But, that's just how he is...doesn't phase him one bit!!! Those darn Ohlde genes!!!

One week from today is one of my favorite days of the year.........I just can hardly wait!!
And while I'm out looking for great deals Dylan spend his day after Thanksgiving with some of his favorite people.........
these 3 and their parents!!!!

And then he will go home that night with this guy and spend the night with him!!! He's only stayed with Daddy alone all night one other time!! So I'm sure they will have a wonderful time while Mommy is gone!!!

Yesterday we traveled with Grandma Walleta and some friend to see Curious George LIVE!! Dylan is a HUGE George fan!!! We were so excited to see him in person!!

Farm Show

This week we were suppose to be at the Farm Show with Daddy!!! We had a whole bunch of fun things planned while down south!!!
We were going to meet up with our cousins and play at the mall like we did last year...

But........Mommy woke up Tuesday morning in the hotel with some AWFULL pain.........Daddy and Dylan took Mommy to the ER to find out she has kidney stones!!!!!! So Dylan and Mommy had to come home!! Darn it...we were so disappointed about not getting to take in the farm show or play with our 3 cutes cousins!!!

Today we helped Daddy move the rest of our cows and their calves home from the pasture!!

Here are my boys and their matching outfits......brown work coats and jeans!!! Dylan thought that was pretty neat!!

We got all the cows loaded and so Dylan got to get in and help load the calves!!

He just loves helping!! He gets right in there!!!

Halloween weekend

We had a fun Halloween weekend at our house! Even though Buzz ran a 104 fever on Saturday evening, he woke up feverless and happy on Sunday morning!!
Saturday we made some bars......

And carved our pumpkin and also Great-Grandpa's(sorry no picture of that one)

Or should I say I did all that while my boys did this........... HA HA, they are actually pretending like they are sleeping!! One of these boys did help me some, while the other helped me with NOTHING.....:-)

Last night we went trick-or-treating and ran into a super cute ghost!!! For some reason I can get this picture to turn the right way......

And we also stopped at The Hays.......they ended up with over 350 trick-or-treaters!!!

Buzz wasn't really into pictures last night, but it was still fun!!!:-)

We kicked off Halloween weekend today by trick-or-treating with my Mom and her daycare kids!! And Dylan debut his costume...............
He's Buzz Lightyear!!! Which if you know Dylan comes as no surprise!!! Besides thinking he is a combine he also thinks he is Buzz!!!

Mom was a nun and her helper Jamie, wore Mom's favorite visor and was "Walleta" it was toooo funny!!!

Happy 31st Birthday to Shane/Daddy!!!

He spent the day in meetings, football practice, football supper(Dylan and I are taking cake and ice cream too it) and then some of the boys might come over and watch film!! Just the perfect day for him, doing everything he loves!!!:-)
Last game of regular season tomorrow night. If we win and things fall in to place correctly, we could make play-offs.........

This weekend Uncle Jason was working on his garage, so yesterday when we went there for lunch Dylan had to get way up there and help him!!!

Dylan has quite an imagation and after Grandma Walleta gave him a fire hat last week, he has LOVED playing fireman!!!

Today we had a fire in the front yard.....thank goodness his firehose was close.

Family Time

This time of year Daddy is hardly ever home, our family time is usually in the field or on the football field!!! So they other day when Shane needed helped with a test plot, we were excited to help!!!
Here's Shane's test plot combine....it's an F2 but Dylan calls it "The Baby Combine"

Here's what I drove.....the seed pick-up and weigh wagon. My job was to catch a sample of the corn and test the weight and moisture of each varity.

Here are our 2 dogs....when Dylan gets around Ginger, he thinks he is a dog also!

And of course we had to stop and eat some lunch!!!!!

Dylan insisted on taking a picture of Mommy!!! I agreed (kind-of) but he took one Mommy actually didn't mind too much!!!

It was a beautiful day, but got warm(in the 80's), we're hoping it starts cooling off again!!

We hauled a few head of our cattle home from the pasture on Sunday, so Dylan informed me this morning he had chorus to do!!! So he took off to check the cattle.
Sure enough they were up by the fence.

I could hear him telling the cows......"Now cows, you stay off my Mommy's yard"!!!

Then it hit him, that he need his gator!!! He gathered up some grass and old corn stalks from our garden & was feeding and talking to the cattle when my camera died!!!

Dylan's Favorite

I haven't shared a recipe for awhile, so I thought I would share Dylan's favorite!!
It's called Corn Casserole...here is a not so good picture of it from the other night when we had it......

I put mine in the crock-pot but you don't have too....here is the recipe...
1 can of corn(not drained)
I can of cream style corn
1 c. of macaroni
1 stick of butter, cut in small pieces
1 c. Velveeta cheese, cut in chunks

Mix all together and bake at 350 degrees covered for 30 minutes, then stir well and bake uncovered for another 30 minutes.

Here is Dylan enjoying his casserole!!! He had 3 helpings that night. You can add just about any meat you like to go with it. That night Dylan paired it with another favorite, hot dogs!!!!

For the 3rd year in a row we made our trip out to Browndale Farm!!! We had such a great time like always!!
Dylan headed straight for the corn wagon when we got there!!!

He loves playing with all the kids!!

Grandma Walleta and her kids were there, along with Grandma Carolyn. We are all so glad she retired after this last school year!!! She is just wonderful and we are so glad to have her around more!!! I wish I could take her home with me!!!! :-)

Dylan's FAVORITE thing is riding the train!!!! I think he would stay on all day if he could!!!

And then on our way home we stopped and rode in the combine with Uncle Jason!!!!!!

And then if our day wasn't exciting enough, we had 5 of Daddy's football players over for supper!!!!!!!

Well, actually everyday at our house seems like Football Friday....Mommy plays LOTS of football with Dylan, watches film, writes football articles for the paper, more film, grades film, listens to Daddy talk about football!!!
This morning Dylan wanted to play football...no surprise there!! The grass was too wet so we had to play inside.......
Down, set, hut-hut......Dylan insists I say that every time!!

Today he decided we would take turns and Dylan would be the football player and Mommy the cheerleader and then we would switch!!!!

He has pretty good cheerleading moves!!!

One Bag

On Saturday I loaded up the jeep and me and my 2 boys headed west to see Uncle Shaun play football!!!

Shane always gives me a hard time about packing too much...so I checked the weather forecast and it said a High of 80 on Saturday and Sunday. Perfect....since we were going to be there less than 24 hours and only spending one night I would pack one bag...and shorts and long sleeves(since it would get cool in the evening at the game).
So.... on the way out we go through Salina and it's 93!!!! Wow, maybe we won't need our long sleeves/jackets after all..........but an hour later when we get to Uncle Shaun's town....it's 54 degrees, misting and cloudy!!!!!!!!!!
So after 2 trips to Walmart, I learned my lesson!!! I think I need to pack more!!!:-)
You just never know with this crazy weather!!!

Monday afternoon was our annual Parade in our small town. This years theme was a family float. Ours was Great-Grandpa on a old cab-less tractor, then Grandpa on another one, Aunt Jenni and Jo and a newer one and then Shane and I on the newest biggest one and then Dylan in the back on his gator!!!

Weekend-Part-2

This past weekend we celebrated our nephew's 1st birthday(which is actually tomorrow)!! So in between playing/running the softball tournament in town on Saturday, I was also making cakes!! I honestly am not every good at it but I really enjoy doing it.
Here is the big Mickey. Anita had this throw-back pan from the 70's!!! I think it turned out really cute!!

I messed up on the first Mickey I make so I cut off the feet to make this ears and then just used a small round pan for the rest.

These cupcakes I found the idea on-line. I thought they turned out pretty good.

Dylan had to help Tristan and Aunt Jolynn with the presents!!

Today is my birthday. My 21st + 10....yeah, you do the math!!! I can hardly say 31, so I think 21 + 10 sounds better for some reason!!!:-)
My brother and sister-in-law gave me the BEST gift EVER!!! A new niece!!! Emery Grace was born this morning and weight 7 pounds 2 oz. and 19 inches long!! Dylan is running a temp. still and complaining of a sore throat now, so he stayed home with Daddy and Grandma Anita(thanks so much for keeping him so I could go see the new baby)!!!! I got Emery this hat from our neighbor lady Ronda who has a gift shop...isn't it the cutest!!!!!!

Yep, Aunt Eunice is now offically a Senior Citizen!!! She turns 55 today and when your 55 and older you qualify for Pamida's senior discounts!!!

So watch out Pamida I'm sure Aunt Eunice will be on her way soon!!! I'm sure her husband Steve is hoping that Hobby Lobby has some discounts for 55 year olds also!!

1st Game

Yesterday afternoon we made the long treck west to watch Shaun play in his first college football game!!
Here he is getting ready to go!!!

Notice his leg bandged up. You would think that would be from the accident he had in July....nope that's from getting stepped on in practice and having to go to the ER(again) and get 10 stitches in his leg!!!

Dylan had a great time at the game and afterwards there was even a firework show!! Then we headed down to the field and a player #55, gave Dylan is wristbands that he wore in the game!!! So sweet!!! Dylan loved them!!

After a whole week of running a temp. Dylan is finally starting to feel better! What a long week it was!!
We went outside this morning and Dylan got his gator and helped me around the yard.

We loaded up some tree limbs and he went to find a good spot to dump them!!

I never actually thought when we got this gator that it would come in so handy!!!

Boy, am I glad to have a healthy(though still grouchy) child back!!

Day-3

Mr. Dylan is on Day-3 of running a pretty much non-stop fever(meds don't hardly touch it) and a runny,runny nose!

Here he is last week helping me make cookies. He ran a high, 105.2 temp. again last night in the night and we are headed to the dr. again today and hoping he's on the mend soon. I have been missing 2-3 hours of sleep the last couple nights and it's catching up with this Mommy!!!

When it's this darn hot out, is the pool!!! It's been in the 100's all week!!! So we have had 2 pool play dates!!! The first one was at my good friend Jennifer's parents house!

After our fun trip to the cabins this past Jan. I booked some cabins on the lake for this summer, so the whole Ohlde Clan could get together again.
We made it there on Friday night and Dylan was excited to see that Uncle Shaun and Rachel would be staying in our room!!

First thing Saturday morning(Dylan was up by 6:30), Dylan, Ron and I headed out on the boat.......but of course I forgot my camera....thank goodness I got to go back and get it before the other boat headed out. Here is Dylan and Amillia on their boat ride.

Our good friend Kyle let us borrow his boat!! We were so excited!!! It was awesome and everyone fit on 2 boats.

These 2 are head to Fort Hays in the next couple of weeks for football and school!!

Miss Amillia in the water and she had to have a cookie too!!!

We saw someone we knew on the water.......Uncle Randy and Josh!!!! They were out fishing!!

We found a beach to go too!!! Which ended up being a hard task since all the high water the lake has had this summer!! We swam, played in the sand and ate lunch!

3 years ago today I became a Mommy!!! Dylan is 3 today!! Where has the time gone!!! Some days I can't believe he's 3 and others I feel like he's been around forever!!!
Here is our first picture of our family of 3!!! I seriously look awful!!!

Today we had his well child check and here are his stats.......
Height- 39 3/4= 95%
Weight- 38 lbs.= 95%
The doctor thinks he going to keep growing and be tall like his uncles(on my side that is)!!!!
Dylan, where do I start with you!!! You have such a BIG personality and are so out going!!! You always have a lot to say!!! You are always on the go and hate sitting and never sleep much past when the sun comes up!!! We love you very much and wish you many more happy birthday's!!!!!

Tonight we had Dylan's 3rd birthday party at the park!!! It ended up being a really nice evening and we had an awesome time with friends and family!!!

The food turned out great! Dad made the meat, which is always good!!!

Dylan wanted a Curious George birthday party this year!! His favorite show!!!

We were gone this weekend(watching Shane play softball) and so I started the cake before we left and some things to go on the cake didn't come........so I had to improvise a little bit!!! Dylan didn't mind!!!:-)

Some of our FAVORITE people came!! Not sure what Aunt Kelli is talking about but she was really getting into it!!!

Road Trips

Shane and I took a little road trip by ourselves!! Oh, it was so much fun. We had some friends invite us back to the Lake of the Ozarks again this year!!

We went and listened to this guy play. He pulls people(just ladies) on stage to dance beside him!! And yep, he pulled me up there!! Someone actually has a video of me dancing up there but don't worry....it will NEVER make it to my blog!!!:-)

And again this year I just loved all the houses.....the one on the right is up for sale!!!!

And yes, I actually did get in the water!! Yuck, it's nasty but I was soooo hot, I had to get in!!

Thanks to my parents for watching Dylan while we were gone!! They REALLY spoiled him!! He even got to go to a water park with Grandma & Grandpa!!!
When we got home Dylan and I then made a quick trip down south to see Kennedy and Gentry. Here is Kennedy and Dylan enjoying a snow-cone!!!

All 3 of them were up at the bar eating breakfast and I thought it was so cute I had to take a picture!! Plus, they were all sitting!!!

We went to a water park with them also but I never got my camera out...darn it!! What a great time!!!:-)

Updates

Potty Training is going....okay. Getting a B+ for peeing part and about a D+ for pooping. Last night he had to go, so I took his potty chair outside....whatever works!!!

Shaun update..... He made it home from the hospital on Sunday. He is looking a lot better and also getting around really good(he has on a cam boot and also crutches). And he has his only personal nurse..Rachel!!!

Amillia......Still wasn't doing the best over the weekend but got to go home. I thought Sunday she looked a little better and her swelling on her face had gone down some. But yesterday still a temp. so Jenni and Grandma Anita took her to K.C. and they did surgery on the big spot/lump(not sure what to call it) to drain it. It's such a weird deal, not sure how to describe it all!!! They didn't have to stay in the hospital but do have to stay down there as she has an appt. on Wednesday!
Glad that everyone is on the mend!!! Please continue to pray for healing for both of them!!

Times 2

Now that we are done with harvest I thought this past week would be nice and quite. Not much going on....boy was I wrong!!! This girl here got put in the hospital on Tuesday night.

She was running a high fever and has a swollen face/jaw bone. They aren't real sure if she got bit by something or what's wrong. It just kept getting bigger and her temp. was high. So I went down Thursday night to stay with her for a few hours while her Mommy took a break!! Then I got a phone call that this boy had a bad dirt bike wreck!!!

Yep, my brother-in-law who just turned 19 on Tuesday and owned a dirt bike for 24 hours wrecked. And since my in-laws were in another state, we all rushed to the hospital to be with him. He has a real bad concussion and a bad cut on his leg!! Very sore and tired. We are hoping he will get out of the hospital today(Sunday).
And Amillia got out on Friday night but may have to go back in this week. Please keep both of them in your prayers!!
**A HUGE Thank you to the Hays Crew(see them on my side-bar blog list) for going to the ER and picking up Dylan and keeping him for us!! With both sets of Grandparents out of town it was nice to know you can count on someone to help you out!!!! You guys are the BEST!!!

I really thought maybe this day would never come!!! I thought maybe, just maybe I could still be wiping his butt in Jr. High!!!! But, HE DID IT!!! He pooped on his little toilet!!!
We had to put it in the living room!!! And get out combines but heck, whatever works!!

He yells...."Mommy, there something in the toilet!!!"!!!!!

We are soooo proud of him and let's just hope it continues!!!:-)

We got D.O.N.E. with harvest last night!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

And Baby Allie is D.O.N.E. with the hospital(for now, she will have another surgery at 6 months, I believe) she got to go home last night!!! YEAH!!!

What a way to start the day.....

So this morning Shane didn't have weights, so he was home. So I decided I would get up early and go for a morning walk. Ginger and I take off headed east towards my in-laws house. On the way over I remembered I didn't see Shane's lunch cooler so I decided I would stop at the place and get it. So Ginger was a little a head of me but I look up once we get to the house and see this guy......My father-in-law outside................

In his UNDERWARE and that's it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mrs. Hays tagged me, so here I go......

1- What’s your staple meal (ie. what meal do you cook most often when you can’t be bothered to be adventurous)?
Mexican. So easy and seems like I always have stuff on-hand. Both my boys love it too!!! I usually just make some taco meat and they have tacos and I have a taco salad.

2- What do you want to be when you grow up? I always wanted to be a teacher and a Mom. And really a stay-at-home wife with some kids. I never actually thought I would get to do it though.

3- What book are you reading at the moment (if any)?
The books I read these days are all to Dylan. He is really into Curious George and loves his books. Also farming books and Good Night Moon.

4- How do you relax? With my I-Pod outside walking/running....but that doesn't happened every often since Shane leaves the house at 5:45 a.m. for morning weights with the boys and usually doesn't get home until after 10:00 p.m. so I don't have anyone to watch Dylan while I do this, so when I actually get to, it's such a treat!!!

5- What color are the interior walls of your home?
The kitchen is white with sunflower boarder, living room/dinning room is a lite greenish color, bedroom is brownish, bathroom is ocean blue, Dylan's is green, yellow and white.
6- What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Watching T.V. with Shane after Dylan goes to bed. We like to watch shows we DVR like Survivor, American Idol, ect.

7- What time is bedtime and getting up time?
I like to be in bed by 11 for sure and get up anywhere from 6:30-7:00...sometimes before if Dylan is ready to get up!!!

8- How long do you spend reading blogs (per day or per week)?
Depends on the day. Maybe 15-30 minutes......probably too long!!!:-)

Miss Amillia came to play today while her Mommy went shopping wtih friends!!!!

We had a busy morning of riding bikes, playing in the sand, swinging and helping with harvest!!! I actually got her and Dylan to sit still for a minute!!

Dylan wanted Amillia to ride his bike with him but since Mommy said no to that he said, "Amiilia push me then"!!! And she listen.....it was soo funny!!!

After lunch we headed to the pool!! It was Amilila's first time going this year and she did great!!! They both did!!

What a fun morning and Amillia was perfect.........too bad she can't rub some of that perfection off on her cousin!!!

Harvest Time

Yep, it's that time of year again...wheat harvest. My job is to make the meals and deliever them to hungry guys!! Tonight we made sloppy joes and corn cassrole!!! Here's a little peek at what they got!!!

The other night I talked Shane into taking Dylan to the movies!!! Shane and I hadn't been since 1999!!!!!!!! Shane thinks movies are a waste of time and you might as well just want until the come out on DVD!!! I understand that but there is just something about seeing it on the big screen!!!!

So we saw Toy Story 3!! Wasn't sure how long Dylan would make it but he did great and it didn't hurt that Daddy got popcorn and pop!!! So we made it through the whole movie and really enjoyed it!!!

We have had such a fun past 2 days...here is a quick over-view!!
Thursday my good friend Brooke came down with her 2 year old son, Brillion!! He was such a good boy and talks up a storm!!! Here are him and Dylan at the park taking a break...lord knows what they are talking about!!!!

Today we traveled cross-country to meet Grandma Walleta and friends at the park!!! It was hotter than heck but we had a great time. Dylan really liked this slide.

Some of the "big boys" were playing football but you know who just jumped right in and played, of course!!!

Here is Dylan and his friend Angel Emma......her Mom swears and isn't always an angel but I don't believe her!!!

Here is the whole gang.....not really...they were more kids..probably 10 more that didn't get in the picture!! What a good time but I'm so glad I only left with 1 child!!!:-)

Please keep Baby Allie in your prayers today as she is having surgery! They are going to repair the 2 holes in her heart and also some other stuff. Not real sure about the "other" stuff.

Shane's cousin Derek and his wife Jana had a 8.5 lb. baby girl on Wednesday. Then on Thursday found out she has some health problems and was sent on to a bigger hospital.

Please pray for her and her family and that she gets to go home with them soon!!

Dancing the night away...

Last night we went to a wedding recption and dance! Dylan just had a ball!! He loves to dance and has moves like his Dad!!!

He talked all day about dancing with his girlfriend, Rachel. He went right up to her and asked her to dance!!! It was too cute!

Gun Show

Shane has 6 A.M. football weights with the high school boys 4 days a week, so today when Shane came home to change after weights for work, I was trying to get Dylan to show me his "guns" but he wouldn't do it...but Daddy did!!!

Shane would kill me if he knew I put this picture on my blog but he doesn't read my blog.......so he'll never know!!!:-)
Since Daddy did it, Dylan finally did too!!!

Dirty Stuff

Since it's been so nice out lately, Dylan has been just about been living in his swimming suits(Shane has a cousin in Arkansas that has 3 boys a couple years older than Dylan so they have been passing clothes and swim suits down, so Dylan has one for every day of the week!!!)!!! Here is Dylan washing his playhouse!! He thinks everything is dirty and needs a good washing....which is great, plus it keeps him very busy!!!:-)

We started yesterday at about 9:00 and we done by 4:00!!! Yep, we got about 95% of the house painted. We(more like I), have a few spots left and also need to get one section of the shutters hung up!!!
I think it turned out awesome!!

Here is a closer view!! I had greenish shutters before and love the color of these...they are called wine berry!! I got the paint and shutters at our local hardware store...P. Lumber!!

And a big THANK YOU to my painting crew.....Jenni, Jo, Kayla, Devonte', Morgan, and the 4 high school boys that came and helped!!! I got a little nervous but I made enough food to feed them all lunch yesterday, plus a few extras that stopped bye to just eat!!!:-)

I don't miss them.....

They have been gone for a week and I didn't miss seeing them at all!!!!
Every day since Feb.(I think) Dylan and I make our way up to the barn behind our house to water our(more like Daddy and Shaun's)cows. At first it's fun but after a couple months of going up there 2-3 times a day...it gets old!!!

New Cousin

This morning Dylan and I went over to meet our newest cousin, Sophia Elizabeth!!! This is Shane's cousin Chad and his wife Libby's second child(they have a son Zac a couple months younger than Dylan).She is such a little cutie!! Soooo, soo small but had super long fingers and just so cute.

Dylan really liked her but enjoyed eating M&M's with her Daddy instead!!!

So, I first did this post this morning and then I saw this picture of Shaun, Rachel and Dylan on facebook.....so I stole it and put it on here!! So that's way this post is all messed up now!! But this first picture is from Sunday at Rachel's party!!!

My project that I had going is FINALLY done!! I did scrapbooks for all the 4 graduating seniors football boys and I got them all done and on time!!! They were a lot of work but I really enjoyed doing it!! One of the boys last night told me it was so sweet of me to do that for him and he really liked his book!!!!

We had a great weekend getting to go to lots of graduations!! Of course we got to go out and party with Dylan's favorite girl!!!!

And Dylan even keeping asking yesterday if we could go back to Aaron's house to party today!!!
